Examine Hives in Children and Things to Know About It more

Some people refer to the hives as welts while doctors consider hives in the category of Urticaria. Hives appear most in young children and women. Hives in children can be seen on body parts like tummy, legs and chest. They appear like white or light red welts. If you witness something like this on your child's skin then it definitely is hives but the good news is that they take not more than 24 hours to fade away.

More than 10 percent of children experience hives in their childhood and most common cause of hives in children are a number of allergic reactions and the factor responsible for this is called histamine. Mast cells in human body release chemicals and histamine is the name given to them. There is one good thing about hives and that is that they are not transmittable from one person to another.

There are many things which can trigger an allergic reaction for hives in children like drugs, viral infection, insects bite, food and many other things. Extreme weather can also be a reason for allergic reactions to get triggered. Unless and until your child is experiencing frequent hives, you don't need to put in any efforts to know the root cause because once in a blue moon, it doesn't matter and they come and disappear fast. Maybe your child was having cough or flu and doctor recommended to take in some doses of Antibiotics and right after your child got hives, so this is not really a serious issue and you will see how fast he will recover. Hives can never be life threatening and in most of the cases they are totally harmless.

For common type of symptoms for hives in children, there is nothing to worry about but extreme care should be taken if your child in experiencing some uncommon symptoms and doctor must be consulted immediately.

Examine Should I Worry About My Son's Self Body Image? more

Health is our concern. Body image is associated with health and cleanliness, behaviour pattern and good gestures. We are concerned with our body, the body of own son and daughter, the body of own loved ones.

Washing our body and keeping it smell free gives respect and love of our close ones. Most people will not tolerate spraying some pungent smelling aero sprays that give a body smell without washing body.

Soap is used with water to wash our body of dirt and bacteria. What does soap do?

Soap is made by saponification of an alkali with fat for the removal of bacteria, dirt and oil. Lather or froth in soap coalesces to dirt and oil that it removes the bacteria along. Soap does reduces surface tension of water for doing the trick.

Soap alone is not used for washing dirt. Soap works only when water is there. You cannot apply soap to your body and say you have cleaned. Water is the ultimate cleansing agent even though soap is the essential ingredient.

There are thousands of varieties of soap in the market with the aroma or smell you wish to have. Some of the fragrance soaps are alluring to the nose. But are they good for your health?

Which is the best soap?

How much soap you should apply to your body?

When and how should you use soap?

These are some of the questions people don't get an answer. Many consult with their close resourceful person and most of the time there advises are misleading and sometimes damaging.

Soap pH is like that of water and is near to 7 or else it will irritate or burn the skin. We don't test the soap pH when applying and we assume all soaps are made for use. We smell the soap and if the smell suits our taste, we buy that or some even use the soap that film stars use?.

Some people buy soaps of piercing smell and are very happy to get cosmetic liquid soaps. There is none who doesn't use soap unless the doctor has told him not to due to certain allergies or skin problems

Children use it much more than adults.

Everyone uses soap irrespective of the fact that they don't know why they use it. They believe soap will clean the bacteria and they become free from bacteria.

I know people in remote villages once upon a time used ash for washing cloths and vessels and they had herbs to clean the body. Those days they used organic fibre to scrub body instead of soap for cleaning dirt from the body.

The herbal soaps and sandal wood soaps to rose smell soaps are all the market crazy substances that definitely spoil your skin. Do you know how much?

I have heard a number of times children speaking about soap. Many believe and they have a wrong notion that soap is to make body white. Soap will change their colour! They think that it will bleach the body! They believe that it is a medicine to cure all skin problems. They believe that it will give their body the smell desired! They believe it is essential for attracting the loved one they have. They are not. Tell them soap will not do any of these things for them.

Excessive use of soap removes the skin surface moisture and makes it rough and attract disease carrying germs much faster than in ordinary case. So instead of soap removing the bacteria from your body it can get more of bacteria in your body and can cause damage.

Sweat is the one which make one use more of soap. Sweat is the waste fluid from the body removed through the skin and the fluid on evaporation make the body cool down. Bacteria thrive on the sweat and make your body smell. The smell is removed when you wash with water. It has been found that people use soap along with water and keep the soap in the body thinking that will remove the dirt and smell. Washing with water and then using soap sparingly will. Keeping the soap longer time on your body is also expected to cause harm than good. Maximum time you can allow soap in your body is 2 minutes for the best action. The soap used on your body should be removed as also the dirt and water is the most cleansing media. Children should be practiced of using soap the way it should be or else they often consider that soap can make their skin whiter!

Soap is not to make the skin whiter.

Soap is intended to help wash away bacteria that can lead to infection. Water alone can remove most of the dirt and bacteria but it is the oil that does not dissolve in water make us use soap.

The excessive use of soap while removing the dirt, can cause dermatitis, which is a red inflammation of the skin. The body image deteriorate.

Your skin needs natural moisture and soaps can be very drying to the skin, especially if they contain sodium lauryl sulfate It's best to limit how often you scrub down your face and body with strong soaps that can dehydrate the skin. If you have eczema or are sensitive to perfumes or dyes, choose mild soaps that are fragrance free to lessen your chances of itchy inflammation.

Antibacterial and antimicrobial agents were created to prevent the spread of infection. But these products due to everyday use get immunized too. As a result, more microbes are exposed to and develop resistances to these agents.

I would not say that your body image will increase by using soap.

By using more antibacterial products, people may encourage bacteria to evolve and become more virulent than they were before. Overusing antibacterial products is now a major point of study within the field of pharmacoepidemiology.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), antibacterial soaps are not necessary, but washing your hands thoroughly with ordinary soap and warm water is one of the most effective ways to ward off infection.

As a chemical engineer with years of experience, I suggest: Use plenty of water to wash when you use soap or do not use soap at all. I personally choose the later.

Understand Cow's Milk and Constipation in Children extra

Cow's Milk: Cause Of Constipation?

I did not associate cow's milk consumption with constipation until this week. My daughter started complaining of stomach cramps and this went on for four days. She would crumple up in agony. It was very strange because there was no vomiting or diarrhea and she hadn't eaten anything unusual or that she was allergic to. Or so I thought.

I drink milk myself, and it tends to have a laxative effect on me. It was only after a trip to the local GP and another to the hospital that I learned the cause of her trouble might be cow's milk. Apparently, cow's milk may cause constipation in young children.

The connection never occurred to me because I thought milk would have a laxative effect rather than the reverse. After all, this is what happens with me. I thought if my daughter was at all intolerant to milk, it should manifest as diarrhea instead of constipation.

Evidence Of Link Between Cow's Milk And Constipation

I researched the subject and came across an interesting study done at a university in Italy in 1998. It involved 65 children with chronic constipation who had been prescribed laxatives after dietary changes had failed to cure the constipation. Each child received either cow's milk or soy milk for two weeks, had a rest week, then for the next two weeks had the other milk that they didn't get the first time. When the results were analyzed, it was discovered that while they were on soy milk, 68% of the children were no longer constipated. In contrast, their conditions remained the same when they were on cow's milk.

Dr Alan Greene of DrGreene.com suggests that it could be the protein in cow's milk that is at the root of the problem, and that switching to soy milk can dramatically improve the quality of life of a child suffering chronic constipation.

Preventing Constipation

Switching to a dairy-free alternative is a relatively simple and inexpensive way to treat a constipation issue.

What about preventing constipation? Besides ensuring the child has enough fibre and fluids in her diet and gets enough exercise, is there anything else a parent can do?

Research has shown that probiotics, those friendly bacteria that prevent harmful microorganisms from building up in the body and poisoning it, can help prevent constipation by aiding in the proper digestion of food and nutrients and maintaining a healthy ratio of good to bad intestinal bacteria in the gut. Probiotics are also useful for rebuilding immunity that has been compromised by long-term use of antibiotics. This is something parents want to watch out for, especially in Western cultures which endorse the liberal prescription of antibiotics for all sorts of ailments.

If your child has no major digestive health issues, good for you! Keep her that way for as long as you can with a fibre-rich diet, lots of exercise and a good quality probiotic supplement.

If your child suffers chronic constipation, then you may want to experiment by simply switching her to a non-dairy diet.

Understand When a Parent has Weight Loss Surgery: Building Better Body Image In Our Children much more

One of the biggest mental struggles we have, before and after weight loss surgery, is body image. It's not uncommon for a person to reach goal weight with WLS and upon receiving a compliment they say back, "Yeah, but my [fill in blank] is a real mess, ugly, still fat" etc. Have you heard yourself respond that way to a compliment? It is a painful challenge to nurture a healthy body image because often a negative body image originates in childhood.

I recently learned of a 9-year-old girl who refuses to wear her coat this winter. Why? "It makes me look fat." She is not alone. According to Linda Smolak a psychologist and Kenyon College 40% of elementary school girls and 25% of elementary school boys report dissatisfaction with their bodies. Dr. Smolak said, "These unhappy and self-conscious kids report more frequent feelings of depression, insecurity and anxiety."

That describes how I often felt as an overweight child and teen. Can you relate?

It occurred to me that while I work on my body image perhaps it would be a valuable time to actively engage in encouraging the young people I know to accept their bodies. Perhaps if I modeled positive habits for them they may be spared years of torment and insecurity.

Prevention Magazine suggests these ways to instill a healthy body image in children:

Uncover media myths:
Media images present an unrealistic message about what is beautiful and desirable. Adults should look for opportunities to explain that ultra thin young actresses or super muscular athletes are not realistic for most of us. Focus on healthy eating and active living.

Give Alternatives:
When hearing children criticize someone's body as fat adults should respond by explaining that although overweight can be unhealthy "dieting" usually isn't the solution. A solution to build a healthy body is eating nutritious foods and being physically active each day.

Listen to yourself:
It has been said children learn not from what you say but what you do. Listen to yourself - are you saying "I look fat today" or "My thighs are enormous" or "Look at this ugly excess skin"? Children have observed our weight loss, probably with great curiosity. If we can learn to say, "Wow! I love the power of my healthy weight body" or "This healthy dinner was just the ticket to boost my energy" then we are sending a positive message. Healthy bodies are good. Rather than focus on the flaws we are celebrating good health. And so may our children.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we became the last generation of self-loathing people? We can do it, one child at a time.

Examine Masturbation in Young Children a lot more

Masturbation is a very normal and natural act amongst young children. Some early childhood experts state that the practice begins in the baby stage; many young male infants have an oft observed habit of rubbing their genital areas presumably in an effort to pleasure themselves. Some even suggest that the practice of masturbation begins in the womb, an ultrasound of the developing baby may prove this claim.

Problems arise when young children are scolded and corrected over their masturbatory activities; this causes unnecessary fear, guilt and worry in the lives of exploring infants. Perhaps a discussion about personal discretion is in order but negative conditioning about sex and sexuality often occurs in early childhood owing to the shown disdain by parental and other adult figures in the child's life. An aggressively expressed introduction to sexual education is definitely not the way to go!

Masturbation is an ubiquitously common activity that prepares young children for later sexual awakening in pubescence. In fact the lifetime attitude of individuals concerning their bodies and sexual pleasure can be set in place from a very early age. Depending on the personal attitudes displayed by parents, either positive or negative, this will affect the psycho-sexual conditioning of the young child.

Adding to this, the sexual education that many children learn from the school playground often adds to the confusion surrounding sex and body sense. So it is crucially important that a sound sexual education begins in the home well before the first school-day.

When a child is observed touching their bodies in a stimulating fashion this is often a good time for a parent to have a sexual discussion with the minor. Great care must be taken so as not to put in place negative perceptions of sex and masturbation in the child's mind.

The inability of western society to discuss sex and the prevalent attitudes to sexual knowledge are alarming to say the least. Is it any wonder that impotence and general sexual frustration runs rife among the adult population? Research has shown that many sexual problems from molestation to rape fantasies are often promulgated in childhood. Surely this alone is sufficient reason to start healthy sexual education at a young age.

Let's get real about sexual pleasure and masturbation and give our children a healthy perspective for life. Sex is natural, sex is fun, masturbation is for everyone!

How Can I Get Rid of Bad Body Odour?

Body Odor

Many people believe that body odor is a way to attract potential partners. But if you are a 2-footed walking skunk bomb, your potential partner will be turning blue from holding her/her breath.

So, what are the ways to come up smelling like a rose? How can I get rid of bad body odor?

Here are some tips I believe could solve your problem.

1. Scrub. Not just bath. Body odor is most often caused by a combination of perspiration and bacteria working together. Scrubbing your underarms with deodorant soap or an antibacterial surgical scrub will wash both culprits away.

2. Wash your clothes. You can wash until your skin peels, but you will still smell bad if your clothes are not clean. Always air-dry your jackets. Do not put them back into your closet if you decide to wear them repeatedly for a few days.

3. Use antiperspirant. Not deodorant. While deodorants retard smell, antiperspirants retard sweat. If you sweat profusely, look for a deodorant that also contains antiperspirant.

4. Wear cotton. Natural fabrics absorb perspiration better than synthetic materials. The absorbed sweat is then free to evaporate from the fabric.

5. Watch what you eat. Say no to onions, garlic, curry or spices one at a time and wait a few days to see if there is any effect.

6. Breathe, stay cool and calm. Getting excited sexually or feeling nervous will make you perspire more. If you anticipate a tense situation that is likely to irritate you, use an extra dose of deodorant in the morning!

Seems like to much Do's and Don'ts but you'll be alright once you got used to it (it doesn't take long).

Did you know that choosing the right perfume will help you to show your true personality?

So if you care what people may think of you, please be careful of your choice. You don't want to give your potential partner the wrong impression of the real you.

Read Foods That Make You Smell Better more

Smelling great is important to most people-an obvious fact given the colossal amount of revenue made by the makers of soap, deodorant, and perfume. Body odor may also be an unpleasant fact, but some odors can be shut down by ingesting various foods and beverages. While a few odors produced by the body may be linked to an underlying health condition such as diabetes or liver disease, other odors can be attributed to an unbalance in the digestive system, not to mention a hardy regimen of exercise or a hot day.

In many instances, when the body's natural scent becomes soured, an issue in the digestion system may be the cause. Material that is not fully digested in the intestines can produce some odor that is radiated through and out the body. Foods that are difficult for the body to digest hang out longer in the digestive system and are likely to produce more sour-smelling bacteria than faster-digestive foods do. Regulating the digestive system is the first measure to take when trying to combat excessive body odor.

Water is extremely important to the body; it flushes out toxins and can decrease body odor while doing so. Drinking roughly eight glasses of water a day helps keep the digestive tract rolling, so foods don't have the chance to over-linger in the nooks and crannies of the intestines. Some physicians have recommended adding some lemon twists to the water as an added help along with a teaspoon (one a day) of chlorophyll, which is available at health food stores.

Eating a diet rich in yogurt can also help combat body odor. The live, active cultures in yogurt are regarded as good bacteria. The presence of good bacteria controls the presence of bad bacteria and provides an essential balance for the digestive system. Keep in mind, however, the snacks covered with yogurt and frozen yogurt do not contain living cultures, so they will not be helpful for eliminating bodily smells.

Raw vegetables and fruits can also help reduce body odor. These foods are good roughage that helps push everything in its path through the digestive tract. The key, however, is to eat vegetables and fruits raw since cooked foods may produce more odor during the digestive process. Therefore, snacking on apple slices and carrot sticks throughout the day can help tackle an odor problem from within unlike a new deodorant that merely covers up the underlying issue. Additionally, the fresh scent associated with citrus fruits is said to pervade the body when eaten.

Pumpkin and fennel seeds can also help to improve body odor. Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc and a zinc deficiency is typically associated with odor. Remember that too much zinc, on the other hand, can interfere with the absorption of other important minerals like copper, so it is better to get some zinc from a handful of pumpkin seeds as opposed to a supplement. Fennel seeds can be eaten to combat the post-meal smells associated with garlic and onions. Fennel tea also contains this natural deodorizing potential. Similarly, parsley helps neutralize the odors from garlic.

Finally, sage appears to be effective at fighting body odor whether it is ingested or applied topically. Sage tea, which should be avoided by women pregnant or when nursing, helps combat stress-induced odor, though experts recommend that it should not be ingested on a regular basis as it could cause dizziness or hot flashes. Sage can be mixed with rosemary and baking soda to form an effective guard against wetness and odor in the most commonly odorous parts of the body like the underarms.

Other foods and spices that can reduce offensive body odor include raw nuts, soy products, thyme, celery, and mint. These are just some foods that have been known to help eliminate body odor.

Of course, by eliminating some odor-causing foods or elements from your diet like fatty foods and caffeine, body odor can also be warded away. Fatty foods that are loaded with sugar and low in fiber can upset the pH balance of the intestines while caffeine increases the activity of sweat glands.

As we go about our daily lives, it will likely be difficult to avoid foods that may help cause body odor. Some of these foods will also be needed for a balanced diet. However, having an awareness of how diet can affect the way you smell will enable you to manage this issue and help deal with it more effectively.

Understand Male Odor - Five Steps To Avoid It much more

p>Bad body odor is no friend to man. While male sweat contains chemical pheromones and testosterone that usually makes him more attractive to the ladies, an unpleasant body odor is one of the largest turn-off's there is for women. If the body odor is centralized in the genital region, it may also be a sign of something seriously going wrong downstairs. Take some effective steps in eliminating the problem, including washing regularly, using professional products, and increasing vitamins for genital health. If the problem persists, talk with your physician or a specialist for advice.

Washing techniques

Washing regularly sounds like a no-brainer, but it's more complicated than you might think. Showering and bathing removes sweat and grime, gets rid of dead skin that can buildup as smegma on the penis, and also keeps skin bacteria in check. However, studies by St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London show that men who wash their genital region frequently with soap are more likely to develop inflammatory skin conditions such as balanitis. It's great for men to wash and stay clean every day, but when washing the penis be gentle and thorough, use natural soaps if you have to use soaps at all, and wear breathable underwear to allow moisture to escape.

<>trong>Body care products

Men who suffer from body odor, especially downstairs, are often tempted to use more and more body care products such as deodorants, colognes and antiperspirants. These provide a short-term solution to get through the day, but in themselves they are not an answer to the problem. More than anything, relying on body care products to mask a bad smell might be masking an underlying problem as well. Not to mention the skin on the genital region is highly sensitive and prone to inflammatory reactions when in contact with artificial chemicals. Unless otherwise stated on the label, deodorants and antiperspirants should never be used on the pelvic or genital area. Natural deodorants containing minerals and essential oils might be better tolerated, but always test a product on a small patch of skin first before applying on large parts of the body.

Detoxification

Sometimes bad body odor might be a sign that its time to do some spring cleaning -- and not around the house. The skin is the largest organ of the body, and responsible for up to 5% of all detoxification of toxins and metabolites. When the toxic load in the body is heavy, sweat is more likely to take on a foul stench. To speed up the process and encourage the kidneys and liver to take up more of the slack in the detoxification process, encouraging other modes of elimination other than the skin, take up some dietary and lifestyle changes. Drinking more fresh water and fruit juices, increasing the roughage and fiber in the diet, as well as leafy greens. Studies show that chlorophyll, the pigment that makes leaves and plants green, is effective in reducing both body odor, faecal odor and bad breath in humans. Chlorophyll can also be ingested in the form of supplemental chlorophyll, chlorella algae, wheat grass or spirulina.

Health checks

If a man is starting to notice a funky smell, it is important to get it checked that it is not an underlying medical condition. Several diseases are associated with changes in body odor, including diabetes, infections and sexual transmitted infections (STI's). Diabetics have high levels of sugar in their blood stream when the condition is not kept under proper control, so both their sweat and their urine is sweet-smelling. By contrast, infections can result in foul-smelling body odor. Yeast infections may result in a slightly fishy smell, while other STI's are just unpleasant. According to one Russian study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine in 2011, women can tell the difference between the body odor of a man who is healthy and one who is not, and often find the smell of a man with an STI more unpleasant than the smell of a healthy man. If noticing a bad body odor, it doesn't hurt to get it checked out.

Penis Health Crèmes

Health crèmes can be applied directly to the tissues of the penis to promote the health and integrity of the skin. As well as pleasant smelling from the natural oils and antioxidants that specialist formulas use (most professionals recommend Man1Man Oil) the creme helps to balance oils in the skin and provide nutrients for immune function. Shea butter as a base promotes healthy skin and has proven anti-inflammatory properties, while vitamin C, E, A and L-arginine support cardiovascular, immune and sexual health. If a man is needing to improve his body odor, skin health and immune defences against pathogens, a penis health creme is a great product to try.

Home Remedies for Body Odor

Body Odor

Body Odor

Body odor is normally present when a person sweats, and the more one sweats the more odors arise. However, it is not the sweat that causes the odor, but rather it is the toxins that the sweat brings out of the body.

Nonetheless, body odor is offensive and can be embarrassing in situations when it is not manageable. Thus body sprays, antiperspirants and deodorants are used to mask the odor temporarily.

However, antiperspirants and deodorants contain aluminum, which contributes to diseases such as Alzheimer's and many types of cancers. Therefore many who are aware of those facts opt for home remedies to help control body odor.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of the cheapest home remedies that can be used. It is powerful in neutralizing odors, and can be applied to the underarms after a bath or shower, as well as throughout the day when the odor arises.

Additionally, taking a bath in baking soda water will help to draw out toxins that contribute to body odor.

Vinegars

White vinegar as well as apple cider vinegar can be applied to the underarms after a bath or shower.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are also effective when applied to the underarms, or when added to the bath water. They can also be added to a small amount of water and be used as a body spray.

Hot Baths

A hot bath helps to promote sweating. Sweating helps to rapidly eliminate toxins from the body so that when the body breaks into a sweat afterwards, fewer toxins will be released, and thus body odor is reduced.

Certain Foods

There are many foods that can help to eliminate body odor by helping the body to get rid of toxins via the stool, urine and sweat. Once the toxins are eliminated the foul odor will be not be as noticeable anymore.

The foods to help with eliminating toxins are all plant-based foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices and nuts and seeds. Herbs are particularly helpful in reducing the odor, as they have an aroma that naturally helps to mask the offensive odors. The best herbs to consider are mints, cilantro, cloves, lemon balm, parsley and ginger root.

At first these foods may actually contribute to body odor, particularly ginger, as it helps to remove harmful toxins. But after using them for a while, and staying on a clean diet the body odor will be reduced.

Body Odor

There are many body odor remedies to help keep you smelling as fresh as you can for a long period. I had an under arm body odor problem when I was younger and the over the counter deodorants didn't help me much. I sweat for no reason and it was becoming a serious problem I had to take care of. I'm not over weight so I didn't know why this was happening. Besides the body odor I was completely healthy as far as I knew. I wanted to take a natural approach and see where that got me.

I found apple cider vinegar which eliminated my underarm body odor very effectively. On top of the ACV I started drinking more green tea which helps those who sweat more then average. During my worst moments when it came to me sweating I had to change my shirt a couple times a day. I had to make excuses saying I spilled something on my shirt so that is why I had to change it. Body odor is a terrible thing because I felt I couldn't get close to anyone which hurt my confidence to a degree.

Underarm odor wasn't my only problem either. I noticed my feet weren't that pleasant smelling. So how I treated that was by a tea soak. I soaked my feet in a tub with black tea bags along with some baby powder applied afterwards and that helped me out. It's a lot of work trying to stay odor free wouldn't you say? Body odor remedies can be done naturally if you are willing to spend time researching and trying new things so keep an open mind.

1. YOU DON'T TOWEL OFF AFTER SHOWERING
A speedy post-shower rubdown may end up causing a problem later on. That's because moisture can get trapped between folds of skin, like below your breasts, under your love handles, or even between your toes, says Marina Peredo, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in private practice in Smithtown, New York. "There's no access to air there, and it's easier for bacteria and fungi to multiply and mix with sweat, causing odor and irritation," she says. Fix it: Peredo recommends this trick to her patients: "After you dry off, set a blow-dryer to cool and wave it over your belly, groin, feet-anywhere that gets uncomfortably sweaty." You can also sprinkle an absorbent powder with antifungal properties onto your skin or in your shoes. Try Zeabsorb-AF, available at drugstores.

2. YOU LOVE CHICKEN TIKKA
Foods with pungent ingredients, such as curry, garlic, and other spices, can not only cause bad breath, but also a bit of a body odor. When digested, these foods produce several stinky sulfur-containing gases. Most of these byproducts are metabolized in the intestines and liver, but some, such as allyl methyl sulfide, are absorbed into the bloodstream and released through your lungs and pores, an effect that can last for a few hours or more, says Debra Jaliman, M.D., assistant professor of dermatology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. Fix it: You can temporarily mask bad breath with mouthwash or by chewing a bit of fresh parsley, mint, or fennel seeds, but you'll have to wait until your body is done digesting before all the odor is completely gone. Sit down to a spicy meal in good company; it's tough to smell it on others if you all eat the same thing, says Richard Price, D.M.D., spokesperson for the American Dental Association. Avoid garlic-rich chow in the hours before an important meeting or date.

3. YOU BRUSH-BUT ONLY YOUR TEETH
Neglect your tongue, and your breath may not be as fresh as you'd like. Your tongue is covered with thousands of small hair-like projections called papillae, which can trap and harbor tiny scraps of food. So even if you brush and floss regularly, small remains from your meals can hang behind, collecting bacteria and emitting hydrogen sulfide vapors-also known as bad breath. Fix it: Mouthwashes may help, but the best way to remove bacteria, dead cells, and food debris from the crevices of your tongue is with an inexpensive tongue scraper. Brushing your tongue with a soft-bristled toothbrush works well too. Gently clean as far back as you can without gagging. Also, switch to a toothpaste that contains chlorine dioxide or tea tree oil, a powerful disinfectant with a pleasant, eucalyptus-like smell.

4. YOU'RE UNDER SERIOUS STRESS
When an urgent project drops on your desk, sweating is part of how your body naturally handles the pressure. Our bodies are smart. The famous fight or flight response mechanism-yep, the same one that helped our ancestors outrun saber-toothed tigers-increases sweating so that we don't overheat while we're battling it out. Fast-forward a few thousand years, and hectic days at the office can produce those same sweaty palms and sticky underarms. Fix it: Try sage tea. It contains the astringent tannin and several antiseptic compounds that may act to calm down the sympathetic nervous system, which is what triggers all those stress symptoms. Sage tea should reduce overall perspiration if sipped frequently in small quantities throughout the day. To make it, steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of coarsely powdered dried sage leaves in hot water and leave covered for 10 minutes to ensure all the active ingredients have been released

5. YOU'VE UPPED YOUR FIBER INTAKE
Fiber-packed foods are great for your health, but they may leave you feeling a little gassy. Unfortunately, the reason some fiber-rich foods-such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans-keep you feeling full longer is the same reason that they can cause gas, according to the Mayo Clinic. This type of fiber, called soluble fiber, doesn't get digested until it reaches the large intestine (other foods typically get digested in the small intestine, earlier in the digestive process). Here, healthy bacteria in your gut break down the fiber, which produces hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and even methane. Eventually, these smelly gases have to go somewhere-and they often exit in the form of flatulence. Fix it: Add these foods to your diet over a few weeks so your body can adjust. If you use a fiber supplement, be sure to take it with at least 8 ounces of water and drink plenty of liquids throughout the day-fiber won't move easily through the digestive system without it.

6. YOU SNORE LIKE A BANSHEE
Blame those nighttime noises for cover-your-mouth morning breath. Sleeping with your mouth open dries out your oral cavity, enabling dead cells to accumulate and decompose on your tongue, gums, and cheeks. This is what causes morning breath. Fix it: Skip the nightcap. Alcohol before bed can make snoring worse. Placing an adhesive snoring strip across the bridge of your nose can help by enhancing breathing. In the morning, in addition to brushing your teeth and tongue and flossing, gargle with a small cup of acidic lemon juice to kill odor-causing bacteria. Then eat plain unsweetened yogurt, which contains healthy lactobacillus bacteria, a probiotic that competes with and replaces the reeking bacteria in your mouth. The lemon-yogurt combo instantly neutralizes odor and lasts 12 to 24 hours, says Mark Moyad, M.D., M.P.H., director of preventive and alternative medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

7. YOU EAT ON THE RUN
If you wolf down lunch in mere minutes because of work deadlines, you may have a burpy afternoon ahead of you. Chewing too fast and drinking through a straw can cause you to swallow too much air. You release most of this air, which contains nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide, from the stomach by burping. What's left makes its way through the digestive tract until it is eventually expelled through the other end-as gas. Fix it: An hour-long lunch break may be unheard of these days, but do give yourself enough time to chew properly, without gigantic bites. Put down your fork while you munch to slow down, if necessary. Also, don't eat when you're anxious, upset, or stressed-it can interfere with digestion. On hectic days where you know you'll eat quickly, take two enteric-coated peppermint capsules (500 mg each) three times daily, recommends Ronald Hoffman, M.D., author of Alternative Cures that Really Work (Rodale, 2007). Peppermint kills bacteria that cause bloating and relaxes gastrointestinal muscles for smoother digestion.

8. YOU ONLY USE DEODORANT
Make sure your white stick contains antiperspirant too. Deodorants only temporarily mask your BO-they don't prevent your body from releasing sweat, says Peredo. "Antiperspirants actually plug your sweat glands, which stops you from excreting sweat," she says. Fix it: You really need only an antiperspirant, but if you want that ocean breeze scent, at least pick a product that has both deodorant and antiperspirant. If you're a big-time sweater (especially in sticky summer months), apply it before you go to sleep. You perspire less at night, so more of the antiperspirant's aluminum-based active ingredient is pulled into sweat glands. The effect can last 24 hours or longer, even if you shower in the morning. If this doesn't help, ask your doctor about prescription-strength antiperspirants, such as Drysol or Xerac, which contain aluminum chloride.

9. YOUR SCALP IS FLAKY
Dandruff isn't the problem-it's the hiatus from hair washing that makes your mane smell gamey. "It's a common misperception that dandruff occurs when your hair scalp is too dry," says Peredo, a myth that makes people wash their hair less. This, combined with the fact that an irritated scalp may be more of a bacteria breeding ground, can make your tresses smell. "In fact, dandruff happens when your hair is too oily." Fix it: Washing your hair with shampoo regularly may help get the flakes in check. If not, try an OTC dandruff shampoo. Look for ones with zinc pyrithione, an antifungal/antibacterial agent that can de-germ your scalp (found in Head & Shoulders or Selsun Salon), or with coal tar, an ingredient that slows down your skin cell-shedding process (like Neutrogena T/Gel). If the dandruff still doesn't go away after a few weeks, see your doctor or dermatologist. You may need a stronger prescription-strength product or steroid lotion.

10. YOU TAKE A PRESCRIPTION DRUG
Check your medicine cabinet-it could be the source of your not-so-fresh breath. Hundreds of prescription and over-the-counter drugs-for everything from allergies to high blood pressure to depression-can cause dry mouth, one of the most common triggers of bad breath. They may block the action of acetylcholine, a brain chemical that tells nerves to switch on the salivary glands. Fix it: Ask your doctor to adjust your dosage or suggest an alternative medication that doesn't list dry mouth as a side effect. In the meantime, frequently sip water to stimulate the production of saliva, which keeps the mouth moist and clean. Limit coffee consumption and try to breathe through your nose, not your mouth, to avoid drying it out further. OTC saliva substitutes can also help keep your mouth moist, according to the Mayo Clinic. Look for ones containing carboxymethylcellulose or hydroxyethylcellulose to help thicken saliva.

11. YOU'RE BETWEEN PERIODS
Who knew? A woman's monthly cycle can influence how much she sweats. Body temperature rises half a degree midcycle when you're ovulating, enough to prompt more sweat-and BO, says Mary Jane Minkin, M.D., a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine and a Prevention advisor. Vaginal secretions increase then too. Fix it: Try a stronger underarm antiperspirant/deodorant midcycle (about 14 days from the day your last menstrual period started) and wear cotton underwear, which allows moisture to evaporate. If you're noticing a persistent, unusual vaginal odor, check with your doctor; it could be an infection that requires treatment.

12. YOU'VE CUT OUT CARBS
Followers of protein-packed diets may find their breath surprisingly stinky. Ditching bread to slip into your skinny jeans may take a toll on your breath-and your overall health. Some of these high-protein plans have you consuming between 30 and 50% of total calories from protein. Because carbs are your body's normal energy source, when you consume too few, you start burning your own fat stores for energy, which releases substances called ketones into your bloodstream, according to the American Heart Association. These can make your breath smell funky-some describe it as a combination of nail polish and overripe pineapples. In addition, diets high in animal sources of protein may also have too much saturated fat, increasing your risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Fix it: Cut out overall calories-not just those from carbs-to lose weight. You should consume at least 130 g of carbohydrates daily-ideally whole grains, beans, and fruits and veggies-to stay healthy.

13. YOU WEAR SPANDEX WHEN YOU WORK OUT
Ditch those form-fitting clothes for a less smelly gym session. Tight, synthetic fabrics, like spandex, rub against skin and can trap sweat. This may cause extra odor, as well as skin irritation, like folliculitis (inflammation around hair follicles) and acne-like eruptions, says Peredo. Fix it: Opt for moisture wicking fabrics that are antimicrobial too. Wool-containing fabrics, for example, naturally inhibit the growth of stink-causing bacteria (one to try: lightweight, itch-free Smartwool). Newer synthetic fabrics, like Cocona, are spun with fibers from recycled coconut shells that provide odor repellent (find it in brands like New Balance and Merrell).

14. YOU'RE A GUM ADDICT
Sugar-free kinds are better for your teeth, but they can make your tummy rumbly, causing flatulence. Our bodies don't completely digest the low-cal sweeteners, such as sorbitol, found in sugar-free gum. When bacteria in the large intestine break them down, it can cause gas and even diarrhea. Fix it: Soothe your sweet tooth with a cup of peppermint tea instead. Peppermint oil contains menthol, which appears to have a soothing effect on the muscles of your digestive tract, providing relief from gas and gas pain. Or drink a half-cup of cranberry juice a day. It contains phytochemicals that suppress the odor-causing bacteria in your gut.

15. YOU HAVE ALLERGIES
A drippy nose can make your breath smell sour. When nasal fluid drips from the sinuses to the back of your throat, it can stink up your breath. So can breathing mainly from your mouth when nasal passages are blocked because this dries out your mouth. A dry mouth prevents saliva from keeping your mouth moist and clean, making dead cells more likely to accumulate on your tongue, gums, and cheeks. When these cells decompose, they produce an odor. Fix it: Drink plenty of water-not coffee, soda, or alcohol, which can dehydrate you. Decades worth of clinical tests have also found that nasal irrigation, in which the sinus cavities are rinsed with lukewarm salt water, is a safe, effective, and inexpensive way to flush out the mucous that causes halitosis. Rubber syringes, ceramic Neti pots, a plastic squeeze bottle such as SinuCleanse, or sprays like ENTsol all work well. Use warm, distilled water and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt per 1 cup for the Neti pot.

16. YOUR OFFICE HAS A "NO-SANDALS" POLICY
Do you slip your bare feet into pumps? You could have an odor problem at the end of the day. Closed shoes can act as a bacteria breeding ground, trapping moisture and causing that stinky feet stench, according to The Doctors' Book of Home Remedies. When you skip out on socks, there's nothing to absorb the sweat your feet produce. Fix it: You can rub an antiperspirant on the bottom of your feet and between toes. It's also a good idea to dab your feet with an antifungal powder, which will help keep your tootsies dry. At night, dunk feet in a bacteria-killing bath of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. You could also try a black tea soak for about 30 minutes. The tannins kill bacteria and close up pores, which keep your feet dryer, longer. You'll see results in a few days to a week.

Read through Body Odor and Constipation: What's the Big Stink About? more

Constipation occurs when waste material moves through the bowel too slowly. It is characterized as infrequent bowel movements and the passage of hard and painful stools.

Many people do not realize that constipation can cause body odor. The body releases toxins through emptying of the bowels. When your bowels are "backed up," the toxins may be released through the skin, thereby causing body odor. Remember the last time your toilet got backed up? I'm sure the smell wasn't
pleasant.

Other symptoms associated with constipation
Low abdominal pain
Flatulence and gas
Bad breath
Sallow skin
Vomiting
Fever

The best solution to eliminating constipation is a preventive regime. Constipation is prevented by exercise, high fiber diet and drinking lots of water. More aggressive but still safe and natural methods are enemas, stool softeners and dietary supplements.

Tap Water Enema

A very effective cleansing enema is a tap water enema. Tap water stimulates bowel activity through irritation of the lower bowel. Tap water is commonly used for adults and older children but should not be used for infants because of the danger of electrolyte imbalance. Seek the advice of your physician before administering a tap water enema to a child.

In order to use a tap water enema, you will need an enema bag kit. This can be purchased from your local pharmacy. Fill the bag with lukewarm tap water. Add a few shavings of a bar of white soap into the bag. Soap suds stimulate bowel activity. The soap should not have been previously used to prevent unwanted bacteria from entering the rectum. Shake the bag mixture, attach the tube that comes with
the kit and insert into the rectum according to the kit's instructions. Bowel movement should start within a matter of minutes.

Dietary Supplements

Dietary Supplements that aid in the digestion and cleansing of bowels are:
Garlic destroys harmful bacteria in the colon.
Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids has a cleansing and healing effect.
Chlorophyll Liquid eliminates toxins and bad breath.
Multienzyme Complex aids digestion.
Vitamin E helps heal the colon.
Aloe Vera heals and cleans the digestive tract and softens stools when
taken internally.
Ginger stimulates the digestive system and helps food pass through the
intestines.

Examine Back Pain in Children more

Body Odor In Young Children

Unlike adults, children will present differently when experiencing a serious or minor spine related condition, and many will not have as their initial symptom, back pain. It is more likely that a child with back pain will have a more significant underlying condition and must be evaluated immediately by a spine specialist.

Children who have just finished their first growth spurt, and are experiencing back pain must be evaluated. There are many other symptoms in children that should alert the parents or the physician that a closer evaluation should be completed. This includes:

•Reduced physical activity or problems with walking
•Weight loss
•Fever or night sweats
•Leg pain
•Urinary or bowel issues
•Difficulty sleeping

Cause of Back Pain in Children

Childhood and Teenage obesity is currently on the rise in America, and coupled with reduced physical activity, muscle strain or sprains has become an ever increasing cause of low back pain in children. Increasing physical activity and exercise coupled with weight loss and diet control will help to reduce the incidence of this cause in children.

Other more serious causes include fractures, cancer, and infections. Herniated discs are less common in children and early identification and treatment of the more serious causes is important. Always see a doctor if your child's back pain lasts for more than several days or progressively worsens.

The History:

Along with the physical examination, the history provides the physician a wealth of information and becomes the focal point by which the source of the problem is identified. Providing your child's doctor as much information about he or she's medical history, complaints, changes in activity patterns, and the presence of other symptoms or unusual behavior are important and must not be taken lightly, and will help direct the physicians plan for diagnostic studies.

General medical Questions:

•What is the overall health of your child including diseases or medical issues?
•What is your family history of disease?
•Any recent accidents, falls, or other trauma?
•Are there issues with their urination or bowel movements?

Sports or Activity Related Questions:

•Has your child stopped playing or their activity level has dropped?
•What are their primary and secondary sports or recreational activity?
•How often do they play, compete, or train?
•What surface do they play, compete or train on?

Spine Related Questions:

•Where specifically is the pain or numbness?
•Does it extend into the legs?
•How long have they been experiencing these symptoms?
•How did it start?
•Is the pain worse at night?
•Was the onset of the symptoms slow or occurred suddenly?

The Physical Examination:

The physical examination is a very important part of the process and should not be glossed over. This will include a very detailed musculoskeletal examination of the spine and the extremities looking for neurologic issues, muscular imbalance weakness or atrophy.

Your child will be asked to change into a gown with the back exposed followed by a simple initial evaluation of their ability to walk, stand, bend, and sit. Their posture will be scrutinized followed by a hands on musculoskeletal evaluation of there spine and extremities. This includes a sensory evaluation, motor testing for strength, reflex examination or other signs of spinal cord compression, and a vascular testing.

This part of the evaluation is intended to be exhaustive and will help provide clarity for the surgeon, thus narrowing his possible list of conditions or causes. From here the spine surgeon will be able to focus his diagnostic testing to further narrow the potential causes.

Diagnostic Studies:

1.Plain X-rays: Standard baseline x-rays may include a scoliosis series, or regional films of the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine at various angles.

2.Bone Scans: This is a very sensitive test but is not specific for any specific diagnosis. This allows the surgeon to focus their diagnostic options. If the test is negative, we will often order a MRI. If the test shows a "hot" spot, we will often order a CT scan and focus in on the area of increased activity. They can detect infections, tumors, and fractures with a special camera.

3.Magnetic Resonance Imagint(MRI): Creates a magnetic field and creates an image of the body without radiation. It is very good at looking at soft tissue, as opposed to bone. Examples would include the spinal cord, nerve roots, and the disc space.

4.Computed Tomography (CT) scan: This is a specialized X-rays machine that allows the surgeon to see bone details at a much better resolution than the MRI in three-dimensions.

Laboratory Tests:

Laboratory tests may include a complete blood-cell count and other test which look for signs of local or system-wide inflammation.

Treatment for Back Pain:

Treatment is tailored to the cause. Once the more serious conditions have been excluded, then the conservative treatment if possible will become the main focus of treatment and includes, weight loss, exercise, physical therapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, and if necessary limited use of narcotics.

Common Causes of Low Back Pain in Children:

Rounded Back
Scheuermann's kyphosis, is a round back deformity of the thoracic (mid back at chest level) spine and can be a significant source of pain in the teenager population which coincides with the patients second growth spurt. The vertebrae become wedged, causing rounding of the back or a hunched posture. Scheuermann's kyphosis is more common in boys than girls and usually occurs between 14 and 17 years of age.

Treatment for this condition consist of bracing, serial casting for the young stiff curves, exercise, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medication and rarely surgery

Stress Fracture of the Spine
A stress fracture is commonly located within the portion of the vertebra called the pars inter-articularis. This condition is also known as a spondylolysis. This is a known cause of back pain in children and adolescents, but is often asymptomatic and can remain so for many years after the initial fracture.

These spondylolysis stress fractures can occur during the childs growth spurts or is related to sports activity related to repeated hyperextension activity. Those at greatest risk include gymnast and football lineman who repeatedly must twist and hyperextend the lumbar spine.

The treatment is centered about reducing hyperextension activity, rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, core trunk stabilization exercises, and possibly 2-4 months of bracing.

Surgery is rarely helpful in fixing the gap and often it will heal via fibrosis as opposed to a normal bone that bridges the gap.

When the child is young at the time the pars fracture (spondylolysis) occurs, then it can progress into a slipped vertebrae called a spondylolisthesis.

Slipped Vertebra
Spondylolisthesis is the condition where one vertebra slips forward over the vertebra below. The most common level is close to the bottom of the lumbar spine at the fourth or fifth lumbar vertebra. The majority of these slipped vertebra are mild and require very little treatment, but a few can be painful and may progress to the point where it results in severe compression of the spinal nerves.

The important part of treatment in the younger patient is prevention consisting of close observation for signs of progression which can lead to significant disability. In the adolescent, treatment can include core trunk stabilization, and bracing. Surgery to stabilize the spine in serious cases will be considered.

Infection
Infection of the disk space (diskitis) in young children, can lead to back pain. This condition typically affects children between the ages of 1 and 5 years, although older children, teenagers, and adults can also be affected.

Symptoms of diskitis in children may include the following.

• Low back pain or spine stiffness
• Refusal to ambulate or run
• Walking with a limp
• Bending forward with a straight spine when reaching for something on the floor

To treat diskitis, the child may need several days of bed rest and antibiotics taken through the blood stream (intravenous, or IV) or in tablets. In some cases, older children may need casting or bracing to immobilize the spine (for comfort) if infection narrows the disk space. Surgical drainage of the infection is rarely needed.

If you are experiencing any symptoms related to neck, back, arm or leg pain, this could be the result of a more serious condition. For information go to http://www.AZSpineSurgeon.com

Understand What Causes Diabetes in Young Children? far more

What Causes Diabetes in Young Children?

Body Odor In Young Children

The cause of diabetes in young boys and girls is not really understood, however there's a lot of ideas around that explain why boys and girls get this illness. It should be stated the content below happens to be obtained from trusted medical-related resources yet these theories have not been proven.

Whenever children are identified as having diabetes mellitus, they commonly possess "type one". This kind of diabetes affects 90 percent to 95 percent of the young children diagnosed that are below sixteen, though on occasion boys and girls can be identified as experiencing "type two".

Infections

Even though viewed as atypical, it has been revealed that some young people established type one diabetes after getting viral infections, for example like measles, rubella, mumps, influenza and polio. However, in addition they had a track record of diabetes inside their family.

Though infrequently found, but another probable cause, is some type of injury to the pancreas maybe as a result of some variety of contaminant or maybe a kind of trauma.

Environmental

A few healthcare experts believe environmental factors are very likely reasons behind diabetes whenever a girl or boy acquires type one or possibly type two. The foremost is a poor life style in conjunction with really poor eating habits. A sedentary living style and a high carb eating diet results in excess weight and also resistance to insulin.

A few industry experts additionally suspect that climatic conditions elevate a young child's risks of getting diabetic issues. Experts have found that wintry weather might produce this disorder, because there is a prevalence of diabetes mellitus concerning young children residing in colder climates.

Genetics

One of the principal reasons behind diabetes appears to be genetics, especially for those that have type two. With regards to type one diabetes a youngster's likelihood of getting this disorder is one in seventeen in the event the biological father has got type one, plus its one in twenty-five in case the mother is actually the sole parent that has type one.

However, if both parents possess type one diabetes the child's potential for getting this health issue varies from one in four to one in ten. In case just a single parent has got type two diabetes, the youngster's potential for developing this particular variety of diabetes is one in seven, but then increases to one in two when both mom and dad possess this disease.

Food Allergies

Certain healthcare professionals have proposed that one of the reasons behind diabetes mellitus may well be cow's milk. Girls and boys that had cow's milk during infancy have got a higher likelihood of developing type one diabetes in the future, in the event they have got a background of this condition in the family. The explanation for this concept is founded upon the antigens uncovered in milk that makes a young child's immune mechanism cause harm to their very own cells, for example the cells inside the pancreas that makes insulin. Given that type one diabetes is considered an autoimmune condition, this is seemingly a sensible theory.

Childhood Vaccinations

Research shows that some childhood vaccinations, and in particular the Hib (or haemophilus vaccine) may possibly raise a youngster's chance for developing diabetes mellitus. Young children who received this particular vaccine have got a twenty-six percent increased possibility of getting this disease.

It was likewise discovered that in case these youngsters had a brother or sister having type two diabetes, his or her risk usually was significantly greater. Consequently, it's presumed that normal childhood vaccines could possibly be a health risk for youngsters who've got a family history of diabetes mellitus.

Once more, these are merely hypotheses about the reasons for diabetes in youngsters and that they've certainly not yet been confirmed.

No one knows for sure what the causes of diabetes are. However, it is a serious disease which can cause nerve damage throughout the body and can be fatal. If you have any of the symptoms of diabetes see you doctor as soon as possible for testing.

Read Storytelling Builds Imagination in Toddlers and Young Children additional

Early Childhood Educators and most grandparents have long known the importance of talking, singing and reading to your toddler and young children. Even before babies are born, they can hear the sound of your voice and respond positively to stories and songs.

Sharing stories and fairy tales are one of the most enjoyable parts of parenting. Whether it is the mom, dad, grandparents or caregivers who take the time to talk and read to the child, it will be a gift.

Young children love stories and enjoy being involved either as a listener or story teller. Brain development and imagination skills are enhanced when caregivers integrate different voices, facial expressions and body gestures.

Growing Evidence on Power of Storytelling

Anecdotal evidence as well as scientific studies indicate what we have always known. Storytelling can help develop the imagination, inspire learning, teach body language and facial expressions and enhance reading skills. Plus, it is just downright fun to do.

You can tell or read bedtime stories to relax your baby and help him to have pleasant dreams. This is a ritual that helps the child recognize bedtime and anticipate the sharing and snuggling before bedtime.

Sharing Family Stories

In my  volunteer work as a personal historian for Story Keepers, many people have told me the power of sharing family stories.  Every child longs to belong to a tribe or community of people who love him.  Hearing tales about the family roots and the past, helps the child to see where he fits in the group.

You may want to pull out old family albums, have copies made of the photos at the copy shop and put them in clear plastic protectors and put in a binder labeled "Melissa's (Your child's name) Family." As you tell the stories, have your toddler or young child point to the picture of Grandma or you as a little girl.

As your toddler or young child becomes more verbal ask her to tell you stories about herself.

Stories Connect and Teach

When reading together, allow your toddler and young child to turn the pages or even tell part of the story. Be sure to read slowly and occasionally point to the words you are reading so the child connects the spoken and written word.

Reading, talking and singing to your child will increase the brain capabilities and the size of the spirit of both the storyteller and the one who is hearing the message.

Children are young such a short time and need your involvement in their quest for imagination, character and understanding the world around them. You are the most important person in their life and I salute you for taking the time to use storytelling as one of your methods of connecting with them.

Read Fast Solution to End Excessive Body Odor additional

There is nothing more embarrassing than being around people and having them tell you that you stink all the time. People can be so cruel and they don't understand that this excessive body odor is something that you might not be able to help.

It's one thing to smell a little bit because this is a natural part of dealing with your body. However, when you have excessive body odor it may be an indication that you have a condition called Hyperhidrosis. This is a problem that about 2-3% of the population in our society is learning to deal with and accept.

Hyperhidrosis has different causes for different people and no one really understands why it happens at all. Doctors think it might be genetic because some people have it and other people don't, but they aren't really sure what is happening.

One of the symptoms of Hyperhidrosis is excessive body odor and this is something that you might want to think about and tell your friends and family at least that it is a condition that many people have today.

If you go to a doctor, they can usually tell you whether you have excessive sweating that causes your excessive body odor or not. They have sophisticated tests that help them determine the amount of sweat that your body is expressing.

The good news is that excessive body odor is something that you can fix; some fixes are easy and others are more complicated but to cure your excessive body odor it is a good idea to at least experiment and see what works for you.

There are a number of things you can do. For instance, some people say that if you eat a diet that is high in fiber it will clean the walls of the intestines. This is one way to detox your body and it may not have to work so hard and it may stop the excess sweating. If this works, your excessive body odor will be a thing of the past.

The herb sage can also help reduce the amount of sweat your body produces and in turn reduce your excessive body odor. You can find sage tea at the health food store and this can be a good way to take it -- if you don't like tea, get over it. If it helps, why not at least try it?

The bottom line is that excessive body odor can be difficult for even you to deal with and other people can make you feel pretty bad about it.

The Reason for Deodorants

Until the late 19th century, there wasn't much to be done about body odor other than heavy doses of perfume. There were various attempts to deal with the problem, most of them simply masking the odor rather than eliminating it. People thought that malodorous sweat was the problem. They were only partially right. Science has now explained that the real culprits are the bacteria that feed on the sweat. The fermentation that results are the cause of the unpleasant smell we call body odor.

How Deodorants Work

Deodorants use alcohol-based ingredients to turn the skin acidic and kill the bacteria. There is no smell as long as there are no bacteria. A major goal of manufacturers of mens deodorant brands is to extend the effectiveness of their products. This is called persistence and some products remain effective for more than a day. Recent products include antimicrobial ingredients that can last even longer. Other ingredients activate when the body heats up or when sweat is excreted. Antiperspirants are a subclass of deodorants that seek to stop sweating at the level of the pores.

Using Deodorants and Antiperspirant Correctly

It is surprisingly important to know how to apply deodorant correctly. The first thing to remember is contact with the skin is important. Better skin contact is one reason stick deodorant is so popular. Sprays sometimes fail to penetrate beyond the hair of the armpit. One useful tip is to put fresh deodorant and antiperspirant on at night when the body is cool, and there is no perspiration. This allows more coverage of the skin. The antiperspirant is more effective when applied at night because it gains better access to the pores of the sweat glands.

Top Brand Deodorants

The choices among deodorants are staggering. There are multiple types of applicator such as gels, roll-on, sprays and sticks. You will also find various strengths of the same brands. If you have serious body odor issues, try a clinical strength antiperspirant. They contain up to four times the active ingredients of the basic offering.

The market continues to see an increasing number of new deodorant products. Many are combination deodorant and antiperspirants. Current popular deodorants, according to recent market surveys, include Axe Vice Fresh Action, Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant, Ban Shower Fresh, Old Spice Fresh Collection Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant, Degree Men's Body Responsive Antiperspirant & Deodorant, and Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant.

It pays to try different brands of deodorants. The bacteria on your body can develop resistance to the ingredients of any deodorant that is used for too long.

Understand 3 Reasons Why Eating Too Much Meat is Bad For You much more

Do you eat a lot of meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Do you never eat fresh fruit and vegetables? Do you always snack on meat products on your break? If you do, then you may encounter serious health issues in the future! Here are 3 reasons why eating too much meat products are bad for you!

1. It takes longer to digest!

When you eat a lot of protein and meat, it takes significantly longer for your body to pass through and digest into your body. This is because meat takes a lot longer to break down in which the juices in your stomach and intestines will have to work much harder. In fact, it takes approximately three to four times longer for your body to break down meat compared to fruit or vegetables. When your body takes longer to digest food, it takes up more energy in your body. This will result in making you feel sluggish and tired constantly!

Also, when it takes longer to digest, it can clog up your bowels. People who have frequent bowel problems when they are older used to eat a lot of meat when they were young. So to keep your bowels healthy, eat more vegetables!

2. It gives you smelly body odor

Believe it or not, eating too much meat products will give you smell body odor. This is because when you eat a lot of protein (which meat contains a lot of), it produces more lactic acid in the body. When there is more lactic acid in the body, it gets sweated out into your skin pores. This lactic acid produces a putrid body smell which is body odor.

3. Eating meat is not natural

Archaeology and biology studies have found that the first prehistoric humans were vegetarians. They did not eat meat, but mostly on fruit and vegetables. Evidence of this way of eating is seen in gorillas in which they only eat fruit and vegetables. Gorillas have 99 per cent of our DNA and are thought to be one of prehistoric ancestors. So if you want to eat natural and healthy, it is best to avoid eating meat as much as possible!

Another evidence that we are not meat eaters is our teeth. Our teeth do not contain sharp canine teeth like meat eating animals such as tigers, rats, and many other carnivores. Our teeth are flat and round (molar looking teeth) which look likes giraffe, gorillas and other vegetarian animals.
